Georgia bank directory

  • Citizens Bank USA
Flag Financial Corporation is the Atlanta-based, publicly traded parent company of Flag Bank. Flag Bank has operated as a community bank in Georgia for over 75 years and currently has 24 offices in 13 counties in central and western Georgia and north metro Atlanta.

While the founding of the bank dates to 1928, February 2002 marked a new beginning, when several seasoned banking executives joined Flag Bank, and along with several existing executives, made a significant financial investment in the bank and charted a new direction. A major component of this new direction included the relocation of both the holding company and banking headquarters to Atlanta and the launch of a banking presence in the metro Atlanta market in late 2002 with the purchase of six branches from Encore Bancshares.
  • Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta
The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta is part of the central bank of the United States. The Federal Reserve System--the Fed, as it is often called--consists of twelve Reserve Banks located around the country and the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C.

The Atlanta Fed and the other eleven Reserve Banks play an important part in all three of the Fed's functions--monetary policy, bank supervision and regulation, and the operation of a nationwide payments system. Atlanta Fed staff examine banking institutions in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and parts of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee--the states that make up the Sixth Federal Reserve District. Through its six facilities in these states--in Atlanta, Birmingham, Jacksonville, Miami, Nashville, and New Orleans--the Bank provides cash to banks, S&Ls, and other depository institutions; transfers money electronically through the FedWireŽ funds transfer system and ACH; and clears millions of checks every day.

  • Thomasville National Bank
This bank was born because of this community. A place of such tradition, independence, and strength needed a native financial institution. It did not deserve a choice only among banks whose assets were owned elsewhere.

In 1995, Thomas County did not have its own bank - unlike almost every other county in our state. The founders of Thomasville National Bank wanted something better for the place they called home. Pride was certainly an underlying principle, but pure practicality was equally important. We knew a bank focused on the unique needs of Thomasville and its region could serve our people better.

Big banking companies write "policy" from headquarters, often hundreds and hundreds of miles away, often for hundreds of banks. They're keeping a whole system intact, protecting the weakest link sometimes at the expense of strong ones. How can they look at individual cases when the aggregate is all?
The focus of TNB is on how to do a better job with a customer's account, not on acquisitions, mergers, and a multi-state bottom line. We write our policy here; we adapt it for the people we know.
