the founder and managing director formed the business with his
wife Ann in 1971. They concentrated their manufacturing skills

houses are made with ply board and are not stained with any colour..

The Hatchwell Company is a family owned
business run by keen pet
owners themselves ( Border Collie in daily attendance). The family
began making pet treats for their own animals some 25 years ago
and subsequently made and sold them throughout the North of
England. The company now sells its products to pet food
wholesalers throughout Europe and Scandinavia.
Hatchwells offer a wide range of quality

We formed as a company in March 1998,
simply making a few rabbit
hutches for a few local shops around Essex where we are based. A
little of word and mouth, a simple mail shot further a field and
a NEC show Petindex, saw trade increase very quickly and so let
to an increase in production. We have now moved twice to larger
units since we began trading. Regular trade shows, selective
advertising and the ability to supply our customers with a
quality product and a reliable service at a reasonable price
has been key to further development of Pethouse.
We serve over 500 garden centers and pet
shops nationally and now
parts Europe with rabbit hutches and other pet homes.
Pethouse prides itself in continuously
striving for improvement
where possible. the introduction of rabbit hutches flat packed and
packaged has been key to distribution. We are always willing to
