Tornado, the retail division of Allied
Data Technologies bv , introduces their new Tornado V.92 PCI modem. This new internal
solution by the well-known modem supplier is based upon the new V.92 technology. It is
available in a retail-version, a white-label solution and an OEM solution, which can be
customised. The V.92 technology has features such as: QuickConnect, Modem-on-Hold and PCM
Upstream.
Over the past year it has been silent around Tornado. Allied Data has been working on a
new strategy for the brand. As of August 1st, 2001Tornado is no longer just a brand it is
also a new sales division within Allied Data Technologies bv. Tornado’s focus will be
on distribution and retail. It appointed Alwin Wolff as Sales Manager Distribution in May,
2001, Jos Kievit as Account Manager Export and now it introduces the first of the new
product portfolio.
“We are pleased to be the first Dutch manufacturer of this new technology based
modem,” said Jeroen van Eersel, VP Sales & Marketing Tornado. “The demand
for V.92 modems will increase rapidly once the ISP’s have upgraded their network.
Several ISP’s in the Netherlands and Belgium are already working on this and it is
expected they will have these services online just before Christmas.”
The Tornado V.92 PCI modem is designed to meet all the modem demands from Internet access,
remote LAN access, telebanking, telecommuting and video conferencing with high performance
and superior quality. The Up-to-date technology assures full compatibility with all
standard communications protocols.
