|Jim was born and raised in the Detroit, Michigan area. After receiving his BA and MA degrees (with a major in economics) he went to work for the U.S. Department of Labor, initially in their St.Paul, Minnesota office and later in the national office in Washington, D.C. Following his retirement from the Labor Department in 1987. Jim moved to St. Simons Island, Georgia where he spent five years on this beautiful island about 75 miles south of Savannah. Because of his keen interest in Savannah’s rich history as well as his appreciation of the city’s great beauty and charm, he left St. Simons Island and moved in 1994 to the heart of Savannah’s historic district where he lives in a condominium apartment building on Lafayette Square, opposite the historic Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. Since moving to Savannah, Jim has become active in many local organizations.
